Breadwinner vs. Coral



Friday night I finished the Dave Barry book, Tricky Business. The ending went fairly quickly, and for some reason I really wanted it drawn out. I know this is a couple years after the book was written, and I know that it's fiction, but if anyone sees a zodiak inflatable raft half submerged and filled with money, let me know. Sprint Adds Podcasts, Radio to Cell-u-tainment Lineup



It had to happen, and it's not a surprise that Sprint would be the first of the carriers to do so. Podcasts and Radio are now coming to a cellular phone in a pocket near you. Really, this is a far more logical development than other cellular innovations, after all speech delivery is the primary mode of phones anyway, so listening to the radio or some pod-pundit is really a lot like talking on the phone (only to someone who never shuts up and won't ever let you get a word in edge-wise). U3's smart USB keys



Smart Drives from U3 which are launched today sound like a cracking idea. Basically the company has taken so called dumb USB keys that are only used for storage and enabled them to also host applications as well as data. So for example you?ll be able to carry round with you your MP3-playing software, your chat client, or your virus protection and use them on whichever PC you want. Mac Switching update, Mon 19 Sep (Apple)



As Dave has been suggesting, under System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard shortcuts, there is a setting that allows pressing the Tab key to move between all types of field, rather than just text boxes and lists. I had thought that this wasn't working, when in fact it was only not working in Firefox. On the Mac, Firefox has its own tab settings, which you can change by going to the about:config page, and changing "accessibility.tabfocus" from 1 to 7. (See also: "Mac OS X Hints" on Macworld.)
