    SD-P1600 Portable DVD Player
I picked up one of these from Best Buy today for my son who is buying it. Since he won't come get it for a few days, I gave it a trial run. It is very easy to use and the picture is great. I put a commercial movie DVD in and found that the sound was weak, even with headphones. I tried two DVDs that I had burned in my computer and the sound was more than adequate. I tried another commercial DVD and the sound was OK (but not overly loud) with headphones. There is evidently a lot of variation among DVDs. I really like the unit, but I would not try to use it without headphones or amplified speakers.

Doesn't play backup copies of DVDs!
This DVD player only plays original DVD disks and WILL NOT play backups of DVDs

    Very pleased...
I'm not sure why some of the former reviewers are complaining about picture quality. I have been using the Toshiba mobile DVD player for over a month and have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I must admit that this is my FIRST mobile DVD player, but it is MUCH easier to use and set up for my kids (on a trip) than my Gateway laptop and Power DVD software required.

All navigational buttons are easily accessible from the front panel...the player works great with backups/home movies I have made using Recordable DVD+R discs and backup software...

ALl in all, I feel that I definitely got my $200 worth and MORE!
