    Totally Worthless
The software for this player is extremely hard to use. I have a Master's degree and I have not been able to figure it out. I have had it for three weeks and I have not listened to a single thing on it. I'm planning on selling it and buying something that is more user friendly. I hear that the Ipod is very easy to use. Stay away from the Iriver until it improves its software.

    Very Impressive
So i have had this for 2 weeks.
I recently bought this after i decided that i really wanted one. but of course theres no way im shelling out hundreds of dollars for an ipod plus their care program (cause you have to get the care program otherwise your screwed after the 18 months are up and your battery shuts off) so blah blah blah i read about this iriver...saw a sale for 99 bucks...and thought why the hell not?

it had an fm tuner...space but not alot, and was small.

after having it for 2 weeks i very happy with it.

    Pros
Sound quality is awesome. remember that the main portion about the quality is the kbits that you rip your songs at...if you have your songs at 192 kbits (cd quality) it sounds ten times better than something at 64 kbits...but 64 is alot less space and thats why people use that.

Next the size is great...the package comes with a plastic case that i use just in case i drop it...the buttons are easy to use and the visuals are great too

Transfers of songs is so simple that the average idiot american can definitely use...just click and drag...and it copies the files, not deletes like other sharing programs..

    Cons

Fm tuner doesn't pick up all the stations...and i live in LA, but who cares...even my car doesn't pick stations..

The thing would shut off every half hour for some reason which really pissed me off...after i upgraded the firmware on iriver.com...all that stopped....so lesson 1....MAKE SURE TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE...it will solve any problems you have.

i wish it was bigger than 512 MB...but for the price and the other features who cares

Otherwise i would highly recommend this product...small cheap great quality...i have had no major complaints with it...

Does not measure up to hype
I skipped the ipod because I wanted a fm radio. The 795 offered a radio and the in-line recording capability. To this point, I am disappointed. The stick control is very sensitive making it difficult to use. Moreover, the radio gets poor reception. On the positive side, the sound quality is good, and it does get good battery life. I would also say that if you have medium sized arms the arm band is useless (and hideous). Because the radio is useless, I would have been better off with the ipod.

I finally went and bought it: the Garmin eTrex Legend 8 MB GPS. Very happy with this latest gear. Operation is very intuitive. A great deal.
