Global Search
Using Global Search you can enter any combination of keywords and receive a set of results that span all of our current catalogs. The top choices in each catalog will be shown along with links available for more information, and for similar items. The similar items link can be used if the product is roughly what you are looking for, or an item you already know you like (this is especially good for music and movies). Clicking on the picture, product name or more information link will bring you directly to the third party website that offers the best price.
Advanced Search
With Advanced Search you can utilize one or more criteria to narrow your selection. When specifying multiple criteria your search will attempt to locate products and services that include ALL of those criteria. Example: by name "harry potter", and by langauge "spanish" will try to find a spanish version of any product which has a title that contains "harry potter". For very advanced searches, you can also include special commands to include or exclude certain words or phrases. Example: A subject search of "history and (brazil or mexico)" will return results containing items that pertain to the history of either brazil or mexico, or both. Another example: a keyword search such as "high tech and not fiction" will return all nonfiction products which are related to high-tech.
Searching by Name or Title
This is the same as our default search. You can search all of our cataloged products and services by any partial phrase in the title. Example: "harry potter".
Searching by Subject
This is a search for a particular subject that is not based upon keywords. All of our products and services are grouped into groups by subject, as their titles may not always accurately reflect what subject matter they represent. Example: "marketing".
Searching by Keyword
Searching by keyword is yet another organization which is not entirely related to subject, and not always related to a name or a title. An example of a keyword search is "high tech" or "military".
Searching by Author
This search returns results relating to a specific author. Example: "Stephen King".
Searching by Language
Searching by language allows you to retrieve results that are intended for, or written in, a specific language. Example: "Spanish".
Searching by Publisher
Publisher searches can narrow your search to a specific publisher. Example: "harper".
Searching by ISBN
Searching by ISBN allows you to directly access the records of a book, magazine or otherwise published material that is recognized by an ISBN number. The ISBN number of a book is generally located on or around it's barcode on the back cover, or within the first few pages of a book, during the introductions and credits. Example: "0446394319".
